The Busybody Book Club

This is a brief review of the book “The Busybody Book Club” by Freya Sampson.

The Busybody Book Club by Freya Sampson is categorized as a “cozy mystery” by Penguin Random House. I picked this book from the new books for June in the CloudLibrary app.

The Busybody Book Club is a light murder and petty crime mystery that takes place in a small seaside village in Great Britain. I found the plot somewhat, but not always, predictable and a little saccharine, with everything wrapped up very neatly. For me, it was the novel equivalent of a Hallmark movie.

I listened to the audiobook. The narrator, Daphe Kouma, did a very good job, and that saved the book for me. I recommend the book just for the narration.

My rating: Two stars, fair.
